About me
Dr. Rebecka is a certified language therapist, diagnostician, teacher, administrator, speaker, writer & MOM of three boys, two who are struggling learners! She is a Jesus follower who has taught in both the public and private school settings for over 20 years from early childhood to college, founded a Christian School in her local community. It was through the struggle of teacher her own son how to read where Cherish Ed was born. You see, having a doctorate in the field, discouragement filled her days with tears and frustration with both she and her son. It wasn’t until she began to remember some of the pieces within her dissertation research where she remembered pieces of “dyslexia” and “executive functioning” when she went back to hit the books and become a dyslexia therapist. After exhausting efforts in curriculum and outside resources, she took her own struggling learners through the program she now delivers and they are thriving! Bringing these resources to missionary families who are not able to receive such services is part of the mission of Cherish Ed. Now, kids all over the globe are receiving dyslexia therapy services. Serving as the head of school in a Christian hybrid homeschool model and dyslexia therapist for Cherish Ed. Dyslexia & Learning Clinic is what brings her joy each day.
